Why use it
WebM is the open video format of the web. Downloads from websites, browser screen recorders and many stickers use it, with VP8, VP9 or AV1 video.
GIFs play everywhere, even where WebM doesn't: in email, old chat apps, documentation and forums. Converting a short WebM clip to GIF makes it shareable anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Does it keep transparency from WebM?
GIF supports only fully transparent or fully visible pixels, so soft edges become solid. For stickers with soft transparency, keep the WebM or use WebP.
Can I convert a WebM sticker or emote?
Yes. Drop the file, keep the original width and choose a frame rate of 15–30 FPS for smooth motion.
