Why use it
MPG and MPEG files use MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 video, found on DVDs (VOB files), older camcorders and TV recordings. Browsers can't play them, so FixGif makes a preview first.
DVD video is often interlaced and has a 4:3 or wide picture. Choose the width you need; the height follows the original shape.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert DVD VOB files?
Yes. VOB files from a DVD's VIDEO_TS folder are MPEG-2 and convert like MPG files.
Why are there thin lines in fast motion?
Some MPEG-2 video is interlaced. Choosing a smaller width usually hides the lines.
