How to use it

- Pick the width and frame rate, press Convert and download the GIF.
Why use it
AVI is an older Windows video format that often contains XviD, DivX or MJPEG video. Browsers can't play AVI, so FixGif first makes a quick preview, then builds the GIF from the original file.
Many AVI files have gaps in their index, which makes some converters produce grey or broken frames. FixGif decodes such files carefully from the start of your clip, so the GIF stays clean.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to convert AVI to MP4 first?
No. Drop the AVI file directly; the converter reads XviD, DivX, MJPEG and other common AVI codecs.
Why does the preview take a few seconds?
Browsers can't show AVI video, so a small preview is made first. It only takes a moment and the GIF is made from the original.
