Video to GIF converter

Turn any video clip into a smooth, high-quality GIF. Choose the part you want, set the size and frame rate, and download.

How to use it

  1. Drop a video file (MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI, MKV) into the box above.
  2. Set the start time and duration. Play the video and use the current time button to find the exact moment.
  3. Choose the width and frame rate, then press Convert and download your GIF.

Why use it

The converter builds an optimized color palette for every clip, so the GIF keeps clean colors and smooth gradients instead of the grainy look of simple converters.

Smaller width and a lower frame rate make the file much lighter. For chat apps and social media, 480 px at 10–15 FPS is usually a good balance.

Frequently asked questions

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The video is converted inside your browser using WebAssembly. It never leaves your device.

How long can the GIF be?

Up to 60 seconds per conversion. Long GIFs get very large, so short clips of 2–10 seconds work best.

Which video formats are supported?

MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI, MKV, M4V and most other common formats.

Why is the first conversion slower?

The converter engine (about 30 MB) downloads the first time. After that it is cached by your browser.
